Woman accuses Boat Quay bar of physical harassment, management denies wrongdoing

Woman says she was harassed at Limelight bar in Boat Quay

Wherever we go, we expect to feel safe and welcome, especially in any establishment.

But a lady in Singapore reportedly saw the opposite happen to her when she and her friends went to the Limelight bar in Boat Quay after midnight.

She alleged that the bar owner touched her inappropriately and told Instagram about the incident. Although she did not claim it was a sexual assault, she said she was disturbed by the incident.

However, the bar denied any inappropriate touching, retracted a public apology and asked the lady to remove her post. They also made a police report.

At the time of writing, the lady’s post remains online.

As she walked into the club with three friends at around 12.30pm without a reservation, she said they were told to buy a bottle in order to get in. The group accepted.

As the OP was dancing, a stranger – the supposed owner of the establishment – approached the table. The person appeared to be inebriated as he was “acting sloppy”. But he started to strike up a conversation with two of his friends.

This is where things started to get a little ugly.

The stranger would have touched his friend’s back. He also “aggressively” ruffled his hair, making the PO angry and uncomfortable.
