Did we hear free food and booze? A temporary glitch in a US food delivery service app led to hundreds of people placing orders without paying a dime. According to an array of social media posts, DoorDash customers on the evening of July 7 discovered a glitch on the app that allowed them to get their purchases for free. Due to the payment gateway issue, users were allowed to pay after placing orders, without entering an authorized payment method. The DoorDash issue went viral on Twitter as more people found out about it. What happened next ? Do we even need to say it? According to the tweets, customers took advantage of the occasion not only by ordering free food, but also expensive tequila and even contraceptives. By the time DoorDash fixed the problem, the damage was done and likely irreparable.
Netizens posted screenshots of the extravagant orders, which amounted to thousands of dollars. Images of stores with hundreds of packed orders have also surfaced on the internet.

While another asked why people hadn’t taken advantage of the issue to tip DoorDash delivery people. “So you all have a Doordash problem where you can get whatever you want for free and no one thought to start giving workers $1000+??” the tweet read.
