This Canadian TikToker shares hacks to improve your drinks and summer is about to be delicious

Summer has officially arrived and the scorching weather across Canada might have you thinking of delicious cocktails and drinks to enjoy on the patio afternoons.

Safer TikTokKaitlyn Stewart – who is a Canadian bartender with over a decade of experience and a world champion bartender – shares tips and tricks to improve your favorite drinks.

One of his most popular posts shows how to use a bar spoon to pour soda, which also doubles as a cute party trick.

She stands the spoon upright in a glass filled with ice, then picks up her pop and begins pouring it into the spoon, which is spiraling.

She says this helps keep drinks from fizzing and also ensures the soda hits the bottom of the glass “with minimal loss of carbonation.”

If you’re making bacon for breakfast, Stewart suggests saving the pork fat.

After pouring it into a jar and letting it cool completely, she added it to bourbon, but she also says you can try it with vodka.

It is then left on the counter for a few hours to infuse before going into the freezer which resolidifies the fat and makes it easier to drain.

This allows the alcohol to take on the flavor of the bacon and also adds a “rich mouthfeel”.

For a truly show-stopping summer piece, you’ll want to make Stewart’s Mini Watermelon Margarita.

After scooping out the fruit, she added tequila, Cointreau, simple syrup, lime juice, a few slices of jalapeno, a few pieces of watermelon, and ice in a blender.

She then whipped it all up, put it back in the watermelon, sprinkled some tagine on top and of course added a cocktail umbrella.

And if you don’t like booze, Stewart’s “Hipster Gatorade” sounds delicious and refreshing.

She notes that the drink has been around for ages, but for her own recipe she uses water, ginger juice, apple cider vinegar, lemon, and maple syrup.

Really leaning into hipster narrative with this one 😆 #switchel #learnontiktok #receipes #easyrecipes #diydrinks #drinktok

She claims there are health benefits associated with consuming the concoction, but it also tastes great!
