When Let’s Chill Music & Restaurant in Nonthaburi, Thailand, was looking to update its 300-seat outdoor performance space and surrounding outdoor seating area, the owner contacted local integrator Mahajek Development Co Ltd to see what options were available for the space.

Opened in August 2020, the restaurant offers fine dining and top-notch live entertainment all in one place. As well as serving an eclectic range of food and drink, the restaurant also houses an outdoor serving and entertainment area as well as a private karaoke area. Mahajak Development Co. Ltd reported that venue management wanted a sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing audio system that could deliver punchy sound with full coverage throughout the space and accommodate a variety of events.

With these demands in mind, the installation team selected JBL Professional, Crown, Soundcraft and dbx solutions to create a versatile and modern audio system.

The stage primarily features JBL VTX A8 line array speakers with patented differential drive woofers, Slip Stream ports and Radiation Boundary integrators for wide coverage and pristine sound. For added stability and easy setup, the team used VTX A8 AF extension bars to mount the speakers to the roof of the stage.

Additionally, the JBL VTX B18 subwoofers deliver punchy, distortion-free bass response thanks to the built-in JBL 2288 transducer. JBL PRX815W/230D full-range loudspeakers serving as floor monitors deliver clear sound and custom settings for performers on stage.

The dining rooms receive Line-Array speakers, Crown amplification

The stage includes JBL VTX A8 line array speakers, Slip Stream ports and Radiation Boundary integrators for wide coverage.

In dining rooms, the JBL CBT 1000 and CBT 70J-1 line array floorstanding speakers act as delay speakers to accurately distribute stage sound to all parts of the room. For expanded pattern control, increased output and punchier bass, each speaker also includes the specially designed CBT 1000E and 70JE-1 extensions.

For the backend, a complete Crown VRack amplification system featuring I-Tech 4x3500HD and 12000HD amplifiers powers the speakers with even and reliable power distribution. The advanced Soundcraft Mini Stagebox 32R, premium passive dbx DB10V direct box and active 4-channel dbx DI4 direct box effortlessly process input signals to the Soundcraft Si Performer 3 console, which offers unparalleled sound mixing capabilities and a support for wireless controllers.

“For a venue like Let’s Chill Music & Restaurant, powerful audio systems that deliver first-class sound and intuitive operation are essential,” said Amar Subash, director, channel management and audio solutions, Harman Professional Solutions, APAC. “We would like to thank our partner Mahajak Development Co. Ltd. for designing an audio configuration that meets performance requirements; pushing the limits of the culinary experience.

Let’s Chill Music & Restaurant management advised that the system provided by Mahajak Development Co. Ltd. is perfect for creating an immersive atmosphere for guests and the public. They look forward to hosting a variety of events and delivering pristine sound throughout the venue using new Harman audio solutions.
