New holiday drinks just dropped at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland Resort and of course we had to try every one of them. Read on for our in-depth review.
Jungle until the end – $ 15.50
Fernet Branca, Kahlúa, lime juice, pineapple juice and coconut cream

Weird. Not bad, just weird. Frenet is not a common ingredient and gives an odd flavor that is difficult to place. The coconut cream makes it look thick and cloudy. It’s almost a salty cocktail, like a fruity Bloody Mary without spices. It’s very confusing, and yet we kept drinking it, trying to unravel its mysteries until it disappeared.

Peppermint rinds – $ 15.50
8-year-old El Dorado rum, Rumple Minze peppermint schnapps, ginger syrup, lemon juice, Coco Réàl coconut cream, mint leaves and pomegranate juice, topped with sugar cane

Very pomegranate on the front, with a nice acidity that works oddly with the peppermint. It is served surrounded by a candy cane but also with a straw. Go for the accompanying sip and ditch the straw, because candy canes really help. For all the disparate ingredients of it, it holds up well together.

Teeny Bubbles – $ 14.00
Gorilla Grog, lime juice, orgeat, orange curacao, real McCoy rum, sparkling wine and cinnamon syrup, garnished with a cherry

Hands down the best of the four. Fruit juices brighten it up and adapt it better than others to the tropical environment, and although less cheerful than others, it’s a hell of a good drink. Not as loud as many others on the vacation or normal menu, it’s an easy fruity walk on a beach. The effervescence of the champagne is almost lost but still barely noticeable. It almost tastes of less creamy ambrosia, with notes of grape and pear despite the absence of these ingredients. Such a great cocktail.

Ginger Snaps – $ 16.00
Hendrick’s Gin, Canton Ginger Liqueur, Lemon Juice, Ginger Syrup and Cinnamon Syrup, sprinkled with Cinnamon and garnished with Candied Ginger

Sweet ginger in a glass. Very spicy, like pure ginger. Sweeter than you might imagine, but very ginger. Not being a huge fan of ginger, I would personally skip it but our group was mixed on the opinion of this one.

After sipping these drinks, don’t forget to take a look at some new Trader Sam merchandise including bowl, mugs, and more.
