No vax, no entry: SkyCity Adelaide implements major new mandate

SkyCity Adelaide implemented a major new rule from February 10, banning all unvaccinated people from entering any of the hotel and casino sites.

SkyCity Australia COO David Christian said from February 10 that all employees and customers – over the age of 18 for gaming sites and over 16 for non-gaming sites. games – will need to show proof of full vaccination or medical exemption to enter SkyCity Adelaide.

He said these places include the casino, the Eos by SkyCity hotel and all the bars and restaurants such as Sol, iTL, Madame Hanoi and Sean’s Kitchen, among others.

Christian said the decision will ensure SkyCity has the highest levels of protection available against COVID-19 for its employees and customers.

“As one of Adelaide’s biggest entertainment venues and as a major employer, we need to take action to keep everyone safe,” he said.

“Although we have strong health and safety measures in place to limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19, public health information and research confirms that COVID-19 vaccines offer the best protection to our employees and customers.

“SkyCity has been significantly affected by the epidemic, and we encourage our people to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

“We would like to thank our valued employees and customers for their understanding. “

He said customers will need to show their COVID-19 digital certificate on their smart device or provide photo ID with a printed certificate.

Official medical exemptions will need to be provided by unvaccinated guests prior to entry, according to Christian, who added that SkyCity Adelaide continues to operate under a COVID management plan approved by South Australian Health and is currently limited to one person per four square meters across the entire property.

“SkyCity also continues to adhere to all COVID security measures, including the wearing of face masks, physical distancing, QR code check-in and high hygiene standards,” he said.

Christian said SkyCity Adelaide’s full vaccination requirement will cover all employees, customers, hotel guests, contractors and visitors.
