#TurksandCaicos, October 29, 2022 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Gabrielle Williams as Procurement Manager within the Contracts and Institutional Performance Management Unit (Procurement) within from the deputy governor’s office.

Born and raised on the island of Grand Turk, Ms Williams was the co-salter for the Class of 2013 at Helena Jones Robinson Secondary School.

In 2015, she earned an Associate’s degree in General Studies – Humanities at Turks and Caicos Islands Community College (TCICC), where she emerged as valedictorian.

Subsequently, she continued her studies at the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies to pursue a bachelor’s degree in international relations.

In 2018, Ms. Williams returned to the Turks and Caicos Islands after completing her undergraduate studies and began working as an adjunct lecturer for the Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Studies at her alma mater, TCICC, before moving on. join the Turks and Caicos Islands Public Service as a Procurement Officer in the Contracts and Institutional Performance Management Unit (CCPMU) under the Office of the Deputy Governor.

She is currently pursuing a Masters in Management Studies – Project Management with the University of the West Indies Open Campus with assistance from the Turks and Caicos Islands Public Service Professional Development Fund.

She is also enrolled in the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, which will be completed by the end of this calendar year.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms. Williams said: “I am honored and delighted to accept the appointment of Head of Procurement. I am guided by the words of Michelle Obama who said, “Becoming is not about getting somewhere or achieving a certain goal. I see it more as a forward movement, a way to evolve, and a way to continually achieve a better self.

It is with great impatience that I take up this new challenge which will allow me to continually improve on a professional and personal level. I am committed to contributing to the growth and success of my unit and, by extension, the Government of the Turks and Caicos Islands and its entities.

I give thanks to God who made this achievement possible. I am also beyond grateful for the guidance, lessons and support from my family, friends and the team at the Office of the Deputy Governor. Also, to my daughter Jasmine, who fuels my passion for success. I sincerely believe that continuous training and development will strengthen my foundation and adequately equip me with the knowledge and skills to guide me in my career and more specifically in this new role in the public sector.
