Britain’s overall winner will represent the country at the World Class World Finals taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil in September 2023.
“World Class GB 2023 is about to be an extremely special program and we can’t wait to get started,” said World Class GB Ambassador Pippa Guy.
“We have so much talent across the UK, so it’s great to be able to showcase the creativity and skills of the community.”
The competition will see bartenders across the UK submit a maximum of two services for a chance to make the Top 100.
Top 100 bartenders will be invited to participate in mentorship opportunities with world-class judges visiting all 100 bars to provide individual feedback.
The top 50 will then showcase their creations to secure a place in the top 10 with a winner crowned at Johnnie Walker Princes Street, Edinburgh.
For the first time, Diageo World Class will also offer a host of prizes throughout the contest.
“Diageo World Class truly showcases the bartending community’s passion for creating exceptional drinks and supporting each other to grow,” said World Class GB Ambassador Jo Last.
“I’m really excited about this year’s world class and working with those starting their bartending careers, helping them hone their skills and hopefully win some great prizes as well.”
The program will see an esteemed range of industry figures on the judging panel including, Connaught Bar’s Bar Manager Maura Milia, 2010 World Class World Winner Erik Lorincz, Sandrae Lawrence of The Cocktail Lovers, Deano Moncrieffe founder of Equal Measures, and Iain Mcpherson, owner of Edinburgh bars Panda and Sons and Hoot the Redeemer.
To enter, bartenders will need to submit one or both cocktails by 11:49 p.m. on January 20, 2023 on www.diageobaracademy.com/worldclassgb/.
