Bourbon, Brews N BBQ in Algonac offers food, drinks and live music – The Voice

Bourbon, Brews N BBQ, an evening festival that celebrates cold beers, mouth-watering barbecue, sweet and smoky bourbon and great live country music, takes place August 13 in Algonac.

The event will take place rain or shine at Algonac Waterfront Park from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., or from 5 p.m. for those with VIP tickets. During the event, which is aimed at people 21 and older, attendees can sample more than 150 craft beers, bourbons, cocktails and wines.

There will be barbecues and food trucks on site, including Hog Wild BBQ. Corey Dakota will provide entertainment starting at 7 p.m.

“This is the third year,” said Algonac City Manager Denice Gerstenberg. “The Michigan Lottery portable retail booth will be there this year.”

Bourbon, Brews N BBQ is organized by Social Connection, which also organizes the Beer, Wine & Cocktail Festival event on the St. Clair River, and benefits the Rotary Club of Algonac. Rotary Algonac retains all profits from the sale of beer, wine and spirits.

Gerstenberg said the 2021 event was “spectacular”, with “beautiful weather and incredible music”.

“About 1,200 people attended,” she said.

She said planning for this year’s event began in January and she hopes to see 1,500 people attend.

Attendees can purchase tickets for general admission with 6 p.m. admission, which includes 10 beer, wine, or cocktail samples, the live band, a commemorative beer glass, souvenir photo, barbecue, and food. food available for purchase. VIP admission tickets are also available with 5 p.m. entry and include the same benefits but with 15 beer, wine, or cocktail samples.

Tickets can be purchased online at or cash only at Algonac Liquor, Algonac Town Hall or Clay Township offices.

Festival guests can park for free in and around Riverfront Park. Boat parking is available at the Algonac Harbor Club with a free shuttle to the park.

People can also volunteer to help out at the event with pouring, greetings, credentials, promotions and more. They can register individually or as a group to donate to their community or a non-profit group.

The event website encourages all guests to celebrate safely and arrange for a designated driver. Those looking for a safe ride home can call Safe Ride Sue at 810-734-2593. The cost is $10 for anywhere in Algonac and Clay Township and an additional $10 for each additional city she travels to.

“I look forward to showcasing the town of Algonac,” said Gerstenberg. “Riverfront Park along the St. Clair River is the best location for the festival. Event-goers can stroll along the promenade, listen to great music while sipping a drink and watching the freighters in the South Channel. What better way to spend a Saturday night?
